Attorney Jonathan Heimowitz is the principal and co-founder of Langdon Title. Since founding the company in 2009, he has expanded the company’s client base to include elite residential and commercial firms, handling sophisticated and complex deals in New York and, since 2011, in New Jersey. As Langdon’s lead counsel he clears every transaction.
Prior to founding Langdon Title, Jonathan was underwriting counsel at one of the largest title agencies in New York, where he worked on both residential and commercial transactions. Jonathan managed and developed high-liability commercial transactions, including the refinance of 99 John Street and the sale of the Lipstick Building. Prior to that, Jonathan was lead clearance counsel at a Long Island–based title agency, where he supervised the clearance department for both commercial and residential transactions.
Jonathan lectures on title-related matters at New York–based institutions such as Brooklyn Law School, the New York City Bar Association, and numerous real estate brokerages across the Tri-State area.
Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and New York Law School. He lives in Westchester with his wife and three children.
Stephen is the principal and co-founder of Langdon Title. Since starting Langdon Title in 2009, he has helped cultivate Langdon into one of the most prominent and reputable title companies in the region. In addition to his responsibilities of growing Langdon Title’s client base, Stephen often acts as the lead contact resolving complex legal and title issues, including structuring, underwriting, and coordination.
Prior to founding Langdon Title, Stephen was an attorney at the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP. At Weil, Stephen regularly represented acquirers, targets, buyout groups, investment banks and shareholder groups in complex domestic and international transactions. He was involved in advising General Growth Properties in the largest real estate bankruptcy in U.S. history. He was also involved in two of the other largest bankruptcies in U.S. history, Lehman Brothers and Washington Mutual.
Stephen has been a frequent lecturer and author on real estate-related matters. Most notably, he has been a guest lecturer at Brooklyn Law School for their Real Estate Transactions class and has had articles published in the New York Law Journal, Real Estate Weekly, and other notable publications.
Stephen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and New York Law School, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and an associate editor of the New York Law School Law Review.
Stephen resides in New York with his wife and two beautiful daughters.
Jeff Fells is a top producing title executive who joined Langdon Title in 2017 as Managing Director, Business Development. Jeff’s role at Langdon Title is multi-faceted and includes managing and overseeing all aspects of Langdon Title’s business development and marketing initiatives. Jeff’s clients include owners, operators, developers, investors, private equity groups, family offices, and attorneys that specialize in commercial and high-end residential transactions in New York and nationally. Jeff has established and cultivated partnerships across the real estate landscape that have helped him achieve unprecedented annual profitability levels. Jeff’s passion for developing relationships and connecting clients through his vast network and professional/charitable affiliations has helped establish him as a trusted partner and resource.
Prior to joining Langdon Title, Jeff was Vice President, Business Development at Kensington Vanguard National Land Services and Director of Business Development for Spector Group Architects where he successfully built and expanded their businesses while closing sophisticated real estate transactions. He began his career as a Principal of a nationally recognized Executive search firm he created in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York called EFCONET which he sold in 2008 to pursue his love of Real Estate.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Arizona. He is actively involved in several organizations, including being co-president of the Metro Cats Business Network (M
CBN), active with New York City Israel Bonds Real Estate Division, UJA- Federation of New York REX Division (Young Real Estate Executives), and an active philanthropic member of the Cohen’s Children's Circle, which supports clinical care, research, and child life programs at Cohen Children's Medical center.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys golfing, skiing, live music, fine wine, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Fells resides in NY with his wife Jessica and their two beautiful daughters.
